Displaying and customizing Review Carousel
The Review Carousel is our new widget that showcases customer reviews in a sleek, horizontal scroll. This article will guide you through the steps to quickly and effortlessly display and customize the Review Carousel in the theme editor using the app block.

Heads-up:
1. Adding Review Carousel via app block is available from "Essential plan" and higher plans.
2. Kudosi supports adding the carousel to multiple templates for themes using Online Store 2.0.
3. Before customizing this widget you need to enable Kudosi Core Snippet.
There are 2 types of Carousel app block:
Media Carousel
Review Carousel
Review Carousel displays customer reviews in a horizontal scrolling format. It allows users to view multiple reviews in columns showcasing text reviews, star ratings, comments, dates, product images, and videos.
Note: To show video reviews on the Review Carousel, you need to upgrade plan from "Premium".
Steps
From the Kudosi dashboard, navigate to the side menu on the left and click Show Reviews.
In the Carousel section, click the button Customize next to it. This will open the theme editor in a new tab.
Another way to access the theme editor and add the Carousel via the app block in the theme:
From the Shopify Sales channels > click Online store > click Customize in the current theme section. This will open the theme editor.
In the theme editor, select one page you want to add the Carousel on: Homepage, product page, or collection page.
On the left sidebar, click Add block > Apps > search “Kudosi” > select Review Carousel.
You can also drag and drop the Review Carousel widget to the position you want.
The Review Carousel widget customization allows you to adjust various settings to display customer reviews effectively.
Overall Settings:
Carousel title text: Edit the text displayed as the title of the carousel.
Heading text font size: Adjust the font size for the heading text (e.g. review titles).
Body text font size: Set the font size for the main body of the review text.
Accessory text font size: Adjust the font size for any additional text elements.
Carousel title color: Change the color for the carousel title.
Primary text color: Set the main text color.
Secondary text color: Change the color for secondary text elements.
Font family: Inherit the font family from the website's theme or select a different one.
Section background: Set the background color or image for the carousel section.
Margin top: Adjust the top margin of the carousel in pixels.
Margin bottom: Adjust the bottom margin of the carousel in pixels.
Review Item:
Card background color: Set the background color for review cards.
Card border color: Change the color for the border around review cards.
Card shadow: Select the type of shadow for review cards (Basic, Light, Dark, No shadow).
Border radius: Adjust the roundness of the corners of review cards.
Enable autoplay: Toggle automatic scrolling of the carousel.
Show published date: Display or hide the date the review was published.
Show customer name: Display or hide the reviewer's name.
Customer name format: Choose how customer names are displayed (e.g. John Doe, J.D, John D).
Rating Icon:
Rating icon shape: Select the shape of the rating icons (Default, Thin, Rounded, Circle, Heart).
Rating icon filled color: Set the color for filled rating icons. This setting can change the star color in the Review Carousel.
Rating icon empty color: Set the color for empty rating icons.
Rating icon border color: Change the color for the border of rating icons.
Rating icon size: Adjust the size of the rating icons in pixels.
Reviews Selection:
Select product (optional): Filter reviews to display only for selected products.
Manage app: Opens Kudosi app to access additional app management options.
Remove block: Delete the Carousel widget from the display.
Note:
1. How many reviews are shown in the Review Carousel?
The maximum reviews shown in the Review Carousel are 12 reviews.
2. Can I control which reviews are displayed in the Review Carousel?
Yes, you can manage the reviews displayed in the Review Carousel by pinning reviews. Pinning reviews will place a review at the top, and the most recently pinned reviews will appear first.
