Importing reviews from a requested custom review source
For merchants using Shopify and Kudosi for dropshipping, importing authentic customer reviews builds trust and drives sales. While Kudosi supports six direct review sources (Amazon, AliExpress, Temu, eBay, Etsy, and DSers), you may want to pull reviews from other websites or platforms. That’s where the custom review source feature comes in.

How to use a custom review source?
A custom review source allows you to import reviews from a site outside our built-in supported platforms (Amazon, AliExpress, Temu, eBay, Etsy, DSers). For example, you might want to import reviews from Walmart, SHEIN, or another marketplace. This service is perfect if you sell products also listed on other platforms and want to leverage their reviews on your Shopify store. Each source is built exclusively for you and includes lifetime access for a one-time fee.
Request:
Tell us which website or product page you need reviews from.
Build:
Our team will build a custom review importer for your selected source within 5 business days (one-time fee applies).
Access
When it's ready, you can use your custom source just like our default sources to import reviews, whenever you want!
Important Note:
You can import reviews from multiple product pages on one platform
Example: If your custom source is Walmart, you can import reviews from any Walmart product page at any time.
Each source costs $30 for a life-time usage (e.g. $30 for Walmart and $30 for SHEIN), you can import reviews from any product page on Walmart and SHEIN—no need to pay again for each new page.
Import unlimited reviews from all product pages under one domain after an one-time fee.
Expand your review options beyond default platforms.
Save time and money compared to re-paying for each product page on the same site.
Follow these steps:
Access custom review source page
From your Kudosi dashboard, click “Import reviews.”
On the Import review page, select “Request a custom review source.”

Enter your custom review source
On the request custom review source page, add the URL of the website, online store you want reviews from (for example, walmart.com).
Want multiple sources? You can add more links by clicking “Add source.”

Important note:
When requesting a custom review source, add the domain name only (e.g., walmart.com). Do not add individual product page URLs from the same site.
Example:
If you request walmart.com as your custom source, you can later import reviews from any product page on Walmart — all covered by your single $30 fee.
You only need to add the main domain once. Once your source is ready, you can collect reviews from as many product pages within that domain as you want with no extra charge. If you need other platforms (for example, SHEIN or BestBuy), request each new domain separately.

Step 1:
After your custom review sources are built, you can go directly to your requested custom source to import reviews (e.g., Walmart).
Another way is to go to the Import Reviews page and click your custom source with “Ready” status, for example, “Walmart.com”.

This will open a new page—click the “Go to walmart.com” button.

Step 2:
Install the Kudosi extension on Google Chrome. Check[ this article](https://help.kudosi.ai/en/article/installing-kudosi-formerly-ali-reviews-extension-199w3ia/) to learn how to install the Kudosi extension.
Step 3:
When on the platform’s homepage, always be sure to find a specific product page with reviews. That's why you need to find a product with reviews that you want to import.
You can only import reviews from pages that already have reviews available. (The homepage itself will not have reviews to import.)

Step 4:
On a product page with reviews, click the “Import review” tab on the right or click the Kudosi logo in the right sidebar. This will open a side panel displaying the reviews.
Alternative access: You can also click the Kudosi extension icon at the top of your browser to activate the feature.

Step 5:
Select your Shopify store and the product you want to import reviews into, then click “Scan reviews” to pull all reviews from that page into the panel.

Step 6:
Remove any unwanted reviews and click “Import reviews.”

Apply filters (optional)
In case, you see the message: No reviews match filter. You can check Filter on the top right of the side panel.
Must have photos: Only imports reviews with photos, regardless of text.
Must have text: Only imports reviews with text, regardless of photos.
Selecting both filters may reduce the number of reviews imported. To maximize imported reviews, keep the filters at their default settings.
Note: When importing reviews, certain attributes—such as author name, rating, review date, flags, etc.—may appear differently or may not match the original format from different platforms. To ensure consistency on your storefront, Kudosi will automatically convert and standardize these attributes into the Kudosi format. This way, all imported reviews will look uniform and professional to your customers.
And that’s it! That’s how you can use the import reviews from your requested review source. If you need more help, please feel free to contact us via live chat or email us at support@kudosi.ai.
